OCT. 8th - Reggae w/ Rootdown
(From Left to Right: Matt Salinas, Craig Paulsen, Jackson Michelson, Paul Wright)
If you are looking for a good time and some live music then you need to come to a ROOTDOWN show. The infectious enthusiasm of the group’s performance will have you smiling and moving your feet from the door to the dance floor. Combining elements of pop, rock and reggae ROOTDOWN’s music creates an excellent backdrop to your day. Their live performance is like a vibrant mood of sunshine even where it rains most of the year… Oregon.
Created in the summer of 2007 by solo national touring/recording artist Paul Wright ROOTDOWN is a four-piece band that also features a special guest horn section on live shows. Since conception their live show has caused a quick buzz as they have been asked to open for Pepper, Passafire, The Wailers and many more gracing many different venues.
ROOTDOWN’s music falls into the “pop/rock/reggae” category of band and genre, a well-developed musical culture with roots stretching back to the early days of Bob Marley, through the years of Sublime, and into today with many different bands spearheading the direction like Pepper and Slightly Stoopid. Think Beastie Boys meets Beach Boys.

Molly Jenson never dreamed this could happen to her. It all began when San Diego singer-songwriter/producer Greg Laswell offered to co-write and produce Jenson’s first record. Greg and Molly worked remarkably well together, and on March 3rd 2009, she released her debut album, “Maybe Tomorrow”. You could easily equate “Maybe Tomorrow” to the work of Jonatha Brooke, Sheryl Crow and Aimee Mann, however, Molly is much more than an ectype. Behind Jenson’s heartfelt songs is an unfeigned artist, who is not afraid to reach out to an audience and let them know that she is tangible. It’s evident that her songs are purely based on her own life. Her ingenuous lyrics entail stories of love and loss, hardships and better days. Beyond that, Molly’s incredible vocal ability sets her apart from other female artists, and she does it with such ease.
